These conditions include polytrauma, anemia and sepsis, as well as coagulation disorders. A blood transfusion can save lives in such cases.  <\/p>\n<p><strong>Your pet can save lives!<\/strong>[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css=&#8221;&#8221;]<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Who is eligible to donate?<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p><strong>Dogs<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul class=\"list_check\">\n<li>Age between 1-8 years<\/li>\n<li>Healthy<\/li>\n<li>Regularly vaccinated and dewormed<\/li>\n<li>Female dogs without previous pregnancy<\/li>\n<li>&gt; 25 kg in weight<\/li>\n<li>Preferably easy to handle<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Cats<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul class=\"list_check\">\n<li>Age 1-8 years<\/li>\n<li>Healthy<\/li>\n<li>Regularly vaccinated and dewormed<\/li>\n<li>&gt; 3 kg in weight<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css=&#8221;&#8221;]<\/p>\n<h4><\/h4>\n<h4><strong>How does a donation work?<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>In total, a blood donation including preparation and follow-up takes <strong>approximately 2 hours.<\/strong> First, your pet will undergo a complete <strong>clinical examination<\/strong>. Afterward, it will receive venous access through which we will draw blood for a blood test and <strong>blood type determination<\/strong>. <\/p>\n<p>If <strong>everything is in order<\/strong> during the preliminary examination, your pet <strong>may<\/strong> donate blood. For this purpose, blood is drawn from the <strong>jugular vein<\/strong> while the animal is lying on its side. The blood donation itself takes approximately <strong>15 minutes<\/strong>. For cats and anxious dogs, sedation may be required.   <\/p>\n<p>During the blood draw, your pet will receive fluids directly into the vein.
