Specialized veterinarians are available to provide your pet with an intensive clinical examination. Based on auscultation and palpation findings, further diagnostic steps are planned and discussed with you.

In our clinic, in addition to blood pressure measurements (non-invasive), electrocardiography (computer ECG), and 24-hour long-term ECG (Holter), we also perform X-ray examinations. However, the core examination of a cardiological workup is echocardiography (heart ultrasound). With the help of a highly specialized ultrasound device (Vivid-iq) including continuous, pulsed wave, and color Doppler, the heart can be examined precisely. Following the examinations, a diagnosis is made and, if necessary, subsequent medical treatment is initiated. We are also happy to support you and your four-legged friend throughout the further course of treatment.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/3″][vc_single_image image=”777″ img_size=”full” alignment=”right” style=”vc_box_shadow_3d” css_animation=”fadeIn” css=”.vc_custom_1664890415552{margin-bottom: 10px !important;border-bottom-width: 0px !important;padding-bottom: 0px !important;}”][vc_column_text css_animation=”fadeIn” css=”.vc_custom_1664890422645{margin-top: 0px !important;border-top-width: 0px !important;padding-top: 0px !important;}”][/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row disable_element=”yes” css=”.vc_custom_1772024234592{margin-top: -100px !important;padding-top: 20px !important;padding-right: 40px !important;padding-left: 40px !important;background-color: rgba(255,255,255,0.93) !important;*background-color: rgb(255,255,255) !important;}”][vc_column][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/2″][vc_column_text css_animation=”fadeIn” css=””]

Does your dog have a heart problem?

Our clinic is participating in a clinical study for a new adjunct treatment for MMVD Stage C.

Is your dog suitable for the study?
✓ Your dog is at least 6 years old and has a body weight between 2.5 and 20 kg.

✓ Your dog was diagnosed with MMVD Stage C within 9 months before the start of the study.

✓ Your dog is in a stable cardiac condition.

✓ Your dog is already receiving standard treatment at a stable dosage (furosemide and pimobendan, +/- ACE inhibitors with or without spironolactone).

✓ Your dog has NOT been diagnosed with diabetes.

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/2″][vc_column_text css_animation=”fadeIn” css=””]Planned clinic visits and examinations:
• 7 visits during the 12-month study period
(Day 0, Day 7, Day 30, Day 90, Day 180, Day 270, Day 360)

• Planned examinations: heart ultrasound, chest X-ray,
blood pressure measurement, laboratory tests (blood and urine).

A win for owners and patients!
• Possible slowing of the disease progression
• Free study therapy and veterinary visits
• Thorough examinations are carried out regularly and free of charge

The contact person for the heart study is our Senior Physician Ms. Richter.

If you have any questions or are interested in participating in the study, please write to info@vetzentrum-koeln.de[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row disable_element=”yes” css=”.vc_custom_1772024239693{margin-top: -100px !important;padding-top: 20px !important;padding-right: 40px !important;padding-left: 40px !important;background-color: rgba(255,255,255,0.93) !important;*background-color: rgb(255,255,255) !important;}”][vc_column][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=”2/3″][vc_column_text css_animation=”fadeIn” css=””]

A strong heart for dogs and cats: Cardiology at Vet Zentrum Köln

Heart disease in dogs and cats is not uncommon.
