Internal Medicine
As part of the planned expansion of our veterinary team, we are looking to fill a permanent position as Senior Veterinarian (m/f/d) in Internal Medicine—ideally a Diplomate ECVIM-CA or ACVIM, or an experienced Specialist Veterinarian (FTA) in Internal Medicine.
As a veterinary clinic in Cologne, our focus is on caring for referral patients and providing emergency medical care. Our current areas of focus are Surgery, Internal Medicine, Neurology, and Cardiology.
Our decisions are based on the latest scientific findings in veterinary medicine, within a framework of animal-friendly, low-stress handling (Fear Free and Cat Friendly).
Another key focus of our work is the continuous training and development of junior colleagues and staff. A comprehensive system of training, continuing education, and professional development—ranging from partly daily to every two weeks—provides the foundation for this.
Your profile
- You are a licensed veterinarian (m/f/d) and hold Diplomate status (ECVIM or ACVIM), are aiming to achieve it soon (board eligible), or are a Specialist Veterinarian (m/f/d) in Internal Medicine.
- You may already have solid ultrasound expertise.
- You are enthusiastic about lifelong continuing education and teamwork, and you have a good sense of what is medically feasible.
- Your manner with people and animals is confident, friendly, attentive, and empathetic.
Our clinic
- Regular staff reviews within a feedback culture
- Teamwork with flat hierarchies
- Training and continuous coaching
- Regular case discussions and book clubs
- Digital time tracking with overtime compensation
- Flexible working time models possible
- Company parties and team events
- Excellent equipment (32-slice CT, digital X-ray, endoscopy, arthroscopy, 4 ultrasound machines, in-house lab, dental X-ray, slit lamp, etc.)
- Air-conditioned premises
- Separate cat clinic and affiliated animal physiotherapy
- Company pension scheme
- Dogs may be brought along
- Good transport links throughout NRW
- Authentic Cologne lifestyle with joie de vivre and Carnival
- Quiet, green location by the city park in the heart of Cologne
For you
- If desired, support from the Internal Medicine team and clinic management in developing your own areas of interest.
- If needed, there are no obstacles to purchasing new equipment.
- Fixed working hours only, agreed jointly for consultations and the care of the Internal Medicine department.
Your responsibilities with us
In addition to caring for your own clinical patients (consultations and endoscopy) and maintaining a respectful, appreciative relationship with referring colleagues, your responsibilities will also include training and continuing education for interns and junior colleagues. Particularly noteworthy in this context is our daily ward round to discuss current patients. In the medium term, participation in continuing education events for external colleagues is desired.

Internship (m/f/d)
We offer internship positions starting in January 2026. During the training, the focus—alongside practical skills—lies on pre-operative diagnostics and inpatient care/follow-up of clinical patients. This includes a structured rotation through outpatient clinic/consultations, surgery, night duty, inpatient care, and diagnostics (X-ray, ultrasound, CT). To complete the program, there are intensive intern training sessions, a book club, a journal club, and direct training by our specialists (Diplomates, FTA). A budget and additional training days are available for external continuing education. As part of the fifteen-month internship, junior colleagues receive very intensive support, so newly qualified veterinarians are also very welcome.
Another focus of our clinic is the behavioral medicine consultation service and a dedicated clinic wing for feline patients. The veterinary clinic is centrally located in Cologne and is very well connected to public transport, should you prefer to live in a rural area. A well-behaved dog can of course be brought along as well. For us, friendliness and empathy toward our patients and clients come first. A collegial, professional approach with one another is also a matter of course for us. If you have these qualities, we would be pleased to receive your application.
