Ophthalmology
All changes affecting the eye are assessed and treated in ophthalmology.
The process begins with a thorough examination of the eye and the surrounding area by our specialized veterinarians. Using specific instruments (slit lamp, Tonovet Plus, indirect ophthalmoscope), it is possible to assess all parts of the eye. Of course, if necessary, local anesthesia of the eye is administered to make the examination as comfortable as possible for your pet.
If further assessment of the structures behind the eye is required afterwards, we can also perform an evaluation in-house using ultrasound or computed tomography.
If the examination shows that medication alone is not sufficient for your pet, we offer a wide range of procedures—from eyelid surgery and operations on the gland of the third eyelid to removal of the eyeball. For more complex procedures, we work closely with specialized colleagues, to whom we refer you in rare cases.
We do not offer breeding examinations (according to DOK).
